Marianne Williamson is an American author, lecturer, and activist. She has written 13 books, including four New York Times number one bestsellers in the “Advice, How-To and Miscellaneous” category. Furthermore, she is the founder of Project Angel Food, a volunteer food delivery program that serves homebound people with HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening illnesses. Basically, she is also the co-founder of the Peace Alliance, a nonprofit grassroots education and advocacy organization supporting peace-building projects.

Early life of Marianne Williamson
Williamson was born in Houston, Texas, in 1952. Furthermore, she is the youngest of three children of Samuel “Sam” Williamson, an immigration lawyer, and Sophie Ann (Kaplan), a homemaker. Her father’s original surname was Vishnevetsky.
After graduating from Houston’s Bellaire High School. Similarly, Williamson spent two years studying theatre and philosophy at Pomona College in Claremont, California.
Writing and speaking career
Williamson dropped out of college her junior year in 1973 and moved to New York City, intending to pursue a career as a cabaret singer. Likewise, in 1979, after delving into A Course in Miracles. Further, she returned to Houston, where she ran a combination metaphysical bookstore and coffeeshop. In 1983, she moved to Los Angeles. She began regularly lecturing on A Course in Miracles in Los Angeles and New York City. Eventually, in other cities in the U.S. and Europe as well.
