Maxwell Steven Muncy (born August 25, 1990) is an American professional baseball infielder for the Los Angeles Dodgers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has also played in MLB for the Oakland Athletics.

Professional career
Muncy was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the 41st round of the 2009 Major League Baseball Draft out of Keller High School in Keller, Texas. He did not sign and attended Baylor University. He played for the Baylor Bears from 2010 to 2012. In his three years he hit .315/.408/.501 with 27 home runs and 153 runs batted in (RBI).

Oakland Athletics
Muncy was then drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the fifth round of the 2012 Major League Baseball Draft.[1] He made his professional debut with the Burlington Bees, hitting .275/.383/.432 with four home runs in 64 games. He started the 2013 season with the Stockton Ports before being promoted to the Midland RockHounds.[2] At the time of his promotion he was leading the California League with 21 home runs and 76 RBI. In total he hit .273/.381/.476 with 25 home runs and 100 RBI. After the season, he played in the Arizona Fall League.[3]

Muncy began the 2015 season with the Triple-A Nashville Sounds, but was promoted to the major leagues on April 25 after second baseman Ben Zobrist was placed on the 15-day disabled list.[4] On May 17, 2015, Muncy hit his first Major League home run off of Chicago White Sox pitcher Jeff Samardzija.[5] He split the 2016 season between Nashville and Oakland. Muncy was released before the 2017 season.[6]

Los Angeles Dodgers
Muncy signed a minor league contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers on April 27, 2017 and they assigned him to the Triple-A Oklahoma City Dodgers.[7] In 109 games, he hit .309 with 12 homers and 44 RBI.[8] Muncy was called up to the Dodgers on April 17, 2018.[9]
